Five panels come together to take us to the ancient walls of Jerusalem, inviting us to look upon the city at sunset.
On a winter’s day, violet clouds gathered across the sky, meeting the golden light above the Dome of the Rock and creating a scene where the colours of winter embrace the warmth of gold.
Each panel is handcrafted with resin, stones, coloured glass, beads and shimmering details, carefully arranged to create depth, texture and reflections that shift with every viewing angle and change in light.
Even the smallest details have a story of their own. Stones, pieces of glass and embellishments are individually placed by hand, while delicate chains surrounding the domes are carefully shaped to follow their curves and architectural lines, adding dimension and presence among the homes and ancient walls of Jerusalem.
As the lighting changes, so does the character of Golden Dome. Under warmer light, its gold and rose tones become richer, while cooler or brighter lighting brings forward the violet clouds and reveals the houses, walls and domes in a different way.
Handcrafted rather than mass-produced, every Golden Dome develops over many hours of careful work. Natural variations in the placement of stones, glass, resin and decorative details give each finished artwork its own individual character.
This is Piece 1 of only 4 Golden Dome artworks that will be made available. Each will be individually handcrafted, and no two will ever be identical.
Viewing the Artwork: Created to come alive with light, this artwork reveals shifting reflections, textures and luminous details as the lighting and viewing angle change, allowing different elements of the piece to take their turn in the spotlight. For this reason, the artwork may appear slightly different from one photograph to another. The product video provides the most consistent reference for viewing the artwork as a whole and was recorded under normal, everyday lighting conditions. For the best visual effect, we recommend displaying the artwork in a well-lit area and avoiding dim corners.
