Each Crafted Gift House artwork is individually hand-embellished and should be handled with care to preserve its finish, texture and decorative details.
General Care
- Handle the artwork gently and avoid pressing on the front surface or raised resin, stones, crystals, glass, beads or other decorative details.
- Display and store the artwork in a dry, suitable indoor environment away from excessive heat, moisture and prolonged direct sunlight.
- A well-lit display area is recommended to allow the artwork’s texture, reflections and hand-applied details to be appreciated. Avoid dim corners as well as prolonged direct sunlight.
- Do not place heavy objects on the artwork or store it under pressure.
- For routine cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth with a light touch. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive products and excessive moisture.
Before Hanging
Inspect the artwork carefully before installation. If you notice damage or believe there may be a fault, do not hang, install or alter the artwork and do not remove the protective backing from any pre-applied double-sided mounting adhesive. Contact Crafted Gift House first.
Before installation, place the artwork on a clean, stable and appropriately sized surface, such as a suitable table, while planning the arrangement. Avoid placing the artwork directly on the floor.
Planning a Multi-Panel Artwork
Measure the wall and the complete intended display area before removing any adhesive backing. For multi-panel artworks, begin with the centre panel. Hold the centre panel carefully against the wall in the intended position and check that it is level, centred and leaves suitable space for the remaining panels on each side.
Once satisfied with the position, lightly mark the edges or reference points using a removable or suitably light marking method appropriate for your wall surface. Use these reference points to guide placement before securing the artwork.
Using Pre-Applied Double-Sided Mounting Adhesive
Where an artwork is supplied with pre-applied double-sided mounting adhesive, leave the protective backing in place until all measurements and positioning have been checked. Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, suitable for adhesive mounting and capable of supporting the artwork.
When you are satisfied with the position, remove the protective backing from the centre panel first, align the panel carefully with your reference marks and secure it according to the mounting adhesive instructions. Then repeat the measuring, alignment and installation process for the remaining panels, working outward from the centre.
Wall finishes and surfaces vary. Before using adhesive mounting, check that the mounting method is suitable for your particular wall surface and the weight of the artwork. Crafted Gift House is not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable wall surfaces, incorrect installation or use of a mounting method contrary to the supplied instructions.
Natural Settling
Canvas and framed artworks can naturally respond to their surrounding environment and the surface on which they are displayed. After installation on a suitable wall, an artwork may gradually settle against the wall during the first several days. Minor natural movement or variation in the way an artwork sits against the wall is not, by itself, an indication of a fault.
